Saving water in Cape Town

Cape Town’s water saving efforts have successfully pushed ‘Day Zero’ back until 2019.

The city’s executive deputy mayor, Alderman Ian Neilson says that Day Zero would arrive 27 August, 2018 but given this date falls within the normal rain period and if low consumption and water saving activities continue it will be avoided this year.

Cape Town has become a watersmart city due to prevention efforts and encouraging tourists to be sustainably minded when visiting the area.
