The Safari Company tours

Kiwi born, Nairobi based Andy Kibby personally hosted, The Safari Company tours, continue to grow in popularity year after year, says NZ GSA Innovative Travel.

After the Gorillas, Gameparks & Beaches 32 days programmes sold out in record time in 2018, a third departure has been introduced for 2019. This 32 day programme which begins in Entebbe and concludes in Zanzibar features highlights including the opportunity to see Mountain Gorillas in Uganda, game drives in the Masai Mara, Serengeti, Queen Elizabeth Park and Ngorongoro Crater plus much more. Innovative Travel MD Robyn Galloway, says whilst experiencing the Safari last year, she hadn’t fully appreciated how important it is to restrict the number of clients on safari. The maximum of 18 clients, combined with Kibby’s Safari Truck design with a high viewing platform, ensures the best views.

Andy Kibby’s 25 years of experience in Africa is complimented by his Kenyan chef Nico, who Galloway says is famous for his Safari cuisine. Responding to clients feedback, in 2019 for the longer 32 day safaris, individual camping for three nights in tents has been removed and replaced by more Permanent Tented camp experiences. This will be an advantage especially in the Masi Mara where clients are now based at the Sekenani Camp and the Kati Kati Tented Camp in the Serengeti. With prices from $13,500 pp share twin, clients need to book early to ensure they secure their space. In 2019, a bonus night at the Safari Hotel in Kampala is included as an early booking bonus.
