Make sure self drive clients’ licenses current

Travel agents are being urged to remind self driving clients to ensure their NZ driving licenses are not past expiry date and also to check whether these clients need an International Driving Permit (IDP).

‘Greece made International Driving Permits compulsory from 1 May 18 and we strongly recommend that anyone travelling to Europe or a non-English speaking country to get an IDP from AA,’ says Alison Hopkirk, New Zealand North Island business development manager with DriveAway Holidays. Hopkirk was recently appointed to her role as BDM for the North Island (Mark Richardson looks after DAH in the South Island).

‘In conjunction with our 30th birthday celebrations, we have released a range of specials on our rental cars and motorhomes and Renault Eurolease,’ she says. ‘I’m working my way around the North Island and I’m always available for product and sales updates – they just need to give me a call or drop me an email.’ Contact AlisonH@driveaway.co.nz.
