Cape Town - water improving

With rains finally hitting South Africa’s Western Cape this May and June, Cape Town is finally breathing a sigh of relief after suffering through its worst drought on record.

The implementation of a citywide PR campaign and severe water restrictions were designed to avoid the arrival of ‘day zero’, literally running out of water. The Western Cape’s tourism sector has implemented water saving measures and secured alternative water sources to ensure that the destination can stay open for business. There are currently strong fares to South Africa in the market with both Air New Zealand and Qantas to package with Eclipse Travel’s tailor-made Africa product.
