Waikato agent retires

Well known Waikato agent Lynne Moore is retiring from travel after 18 years of owning and operating Harvey World Travel Dinsdale and The Travel Directors.

‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the travel industry – it has been fun, demanding and exciting all at once.’ Moore started with Travel Time in Dinsdale, which she changed to become a member of the Holiday Shoppe, then Harvey World Travel. Three years ago, she set up her own brand – Travel Directors – and has been under the My Travel Group banner with Helloworld. At one stage, she had five stores – Dinsdale, Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Taupo and Bayfair. Dinsdale was the last to be sold and new owner Michelle Brough took over this week.

Asked for her favourite destinations, Moore pinpoints Fiji as a country she has ‘visited 124 times’ – both on holidays and for work (especially when she concentrated on destination weddings). Rarotonga is another frequently visited destination – along with Bali and Thailand. ‘My highlights were winning Top Consultant at Harvey World Travel six years in a row and winning Harvey World Travel Top Shop three times. ‘And I will have fond memories of all the people I have met. I sent out an EDM to my database to announce my retirement and I was overwhelmed by the response and the well wishers.’
