Itinerary highlights include a tour of The Alamo, San Antonio’s first Spanish mission founded in 1718; a riverboat cruise of the San Antonio River; and a full day private tour of Galveston Island. Yesterday the group explored the ins and outs of Houston city including the museum district, theatre district, city stadiums, the world’s largest medical centre, nationally prestigious Rice University, and the exclusive River Oaks residential area. NASA’s Space Center Houston was a highlight of the day with a tour of its attractions, events, exhibits and theatres as well as Independence Plaza, a multi-exhibit complex including the shuttle replica Independence. Rob Beecher, Global Travel Network director, says this is the first GTN famil to North America. ‘We chose Houston because we wanted to do a different destination in the US from the normal Los Angeles and San Francisco.’
