Delights of Dallas & Fort Worth Featured

Mark Thompson, senior vice president of tourism for Visit Dallas, was among the hosts at a trade and media dinner in Auckland on Tuesday night and says many people are surprised at how accessible the destination is. He was also emphasising the thriving arts and culture precinct, new hotel developments, the sports scene and the Margarita Mile. ‘A new attraction to watch out for is the Dallas Holocaust Museum and the Centre for Human Rights.’ Thompson says Dallas is just half an hour flight from the Air New Zealand gateway of Houston while there are flights from Sydney direct to DFW. ‘For clients who are driving, it is three hours Dallas to Houston and the same to Austin, and then another hour to San Antonio. Texas is a huge state but the major cities are an easy drive from each other.’
