Air France/KLM’s flying visit

Air France/KLM was back on radar this week, reminding trade it is a very viable option for flights around Europe.
Members of the carriers’ team were in Auckland overnight introducing themselves to key industry players during a trade function at Harbourside
Ocean Bar Grill.

Among them were Singapore-based Air France/KLM South East Asia and Oceania general manager, Gijs van Popta; commercial director Guilhem Laurans and, from Sydney, country sales manager Australia and New Zealand Quentin Voss.
Voss, who has worked with Qantas and Air New Zealand, joined the team in January, and will be responsible for Air France/KLM’ sales activities in New Zealand.
The new line up also includes newly appointed Kiwi GSA team, Airline Marketing New Zealand’s Steve
and Julie Rice.
Van Popta says 2016 was a year of huge change for the airlines after six offices in the Asia Pacific region were downsized to three.
However, Air France/KLM can now focus on reestablishing its relationship with New Zealand,
he says.
And although the carrier doesn’t fly to New Zealand, the additional 53 routes it is adding to the European circuit make it a valuable player for Europe-bound Kiwis, says van Popta.
