CX monitoring Super Typhoon

CX monitoring Super Typhoon

Cathay Pacific is closely monitoring approaching Super Typhoon Mangkhut which is expected to make landfall on Sunday.

It is likely CX/ KA will suspend operations at HKG Airport from 0600HKT/16SEP18 for up to 24 hours – at the time of going to press this is yet to be confirmed. Travel agents are strongly advised to ensure passenger contact details are updated in their PNR so that CX/KA may communicate directly with passengers over the weekend. Passengers can also check Flight Status and update their contact details on cathaypacific.co.nz to ensure they receive the latest flight status updates via SMS ‘Notifly’ or email. Travel agents may also re-book on other carriers to the original final destination in order to avoid HKG Airport on 16 September.

Agents should rebook CX ETKT in the lowest booking class in the cabin originally confirmed. ETKTS may be re-issued at no penalty and must show INVOL REROUTE in the endorsement box. For CX7402 (NZ87) passengers departing on the evening of Saturday 15 September, NZ currently plans to operate this flight as scheduled however passengers on CX tickets with onward CX/KA connections are strongly recommended to rebook or reroute. Please follow above instructions for rebooking, the airline advises.
