Though numbers were limited at the special reception in Wellington Airport, plenty more of the region’s agents and brokers will get a taste of the aircraft soon – with approximately 30 going on famils in the next couple of months. Philip Goh, regional vice president South West Pacific for Singapore Airlines says the strong support the airline experienced from the capital since it launched flights there three years ago was the catalyst for it becoming the first carrier to operate commercial flights with the A350 into the city. ‘In two months we will be increasing our flights to five times weekly. Wellington has really embraced the service.’ He says with the A350 services to Wellington, all SQ flights serving New Zealand offer lie flat business class and a premium economy cabin.
