TNQ's tourism renaissance

In 2018, Tropical North Queensland is reinventing itself with new offerings and a revamp of some current experiences.

There will be innovative new Great Barrier Reef products, tours to connect with Aboriginal culture, adrenalin-packed sporting events and also a waterfront brewery.

Visitors can learn to dive on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef at the Quicksilver Port Douglas Dive Centre that opens in July 2018.

Brewery tours, craft beer tastings, cider and pub food can be enjoyed on the waterfront mid-2018 when Hemingway’s Brewery expands from Port Douglas to a Cairns heritage-listed wharf shed.

There will be an outback experience with Outback Tasting Adventures, driving through farms on the Atherton Tablelands to sip local coffee sample handcrafted chocolates and cheese, taste tropical wines and discover Indigenous flavours.

The Cairns Performing Arts Centre is also set to open mid-2018 as part of The Precinct in Cairns which incorporates the new Munro Martin Parklands outdoor performance space.
