Kate Wright, Tourism Western Australia says she is aware that some consultants are likely to be still working on cancellations, rebooking and refunds. ‘So they might like to refer to the fact sheets when they have some spare time over the next few weeks.’ Wright says the sheets will help agents with itineraries and provide information on the state’s different regions. One of the fact sheets focuses on Perth and surrounds.
‘There are so many amazing places to explore in Perth and surrounds, such as the Swan Valley – a wine region only 30 minutes from the city. Perth also offers 19 city beaches that are only 15 minutes from the CBD. Among the popular choices are Cottesloe Beach, City Beach and Scarborough. Fremantle is 16 kilometres from Perth City, which is about 20 minutes by road or train, and Rottnest is 30 minutes from Fremantle.’ Other fact sheets focus on Albany & the Great Southern; Margaret River region; Kimberley (Broome, Kununurra, Horizontal Falls, Bungle Bungle Range, Aboriginal cultural experiences, Gibb River Road, Kimberley Cruising); and Ningaloo Reef. Wright points out that an Esperance and Golden Outback Region fact sheet is in the pipeline. www.westernaustralia.com
