Agents are being encouraged to ‘get in quick’ for the inaugural Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Live educational event in Auckland on 22 May.

Although registrations don’t close until 7 May, nearly 40 registrations have already been received for the limited capacity event being held at Grand Millennium Hotel.

Agents will have the rare opportunity to hear from 15 cruise brands charged with explaining ‘What makes their brand unique.’

CLIA’s membership and events manager, Marita Nosic has been in New Zealand this week hosting four membership seminars in Auckland and Tauranga. Designed for agents to maximise their CLIA membership, the seminars outlined changes to the accreditation system, website enhancements and upcoming events.

The high turnout to this week’s (80 in Auckland and 50 in Tauranga) events this week, bodes well for similar events planned for Wellington and Christchurch later this year.

‘The goal is to get agents to understand the volume of useful resources on the CLIA membership pages,’ says Nosic.

‘It’s worth investing in the time to familiarise yourself with the site so that you can go straight to the information you need when selling the right cruise to your clients.’

And for CLIA Live in May, it is likely that the 50-attendee event may need to be doubled to 100 if registrations continue at the present rate.

‘But don't wait and possibly be disappointed, get in now,’ adds Nosic.

Agents who attended this week’s session came away inspired. ‘I’ve found it very informative,’ says Margaret Boak from helloworld Mairangi Bay (who has already registered for CLIA Live in May).

‘It’s a matter of accessing the knowledge on the CLIA website. I like the mix of video and written resources and the 24/7 access as it’s not always possible to find time during the day to research.’
