Joel Katz, managing director Cruise Lines Industry Association (CLIA) Australasia reflected on the challenges in his welcome address but noted that the industry is ‘responsive and resilient. ‘Most cruise lines are operating as usual and are taking extra measures that will help reassure travellers.’ Sture Myrmell, chairman of CLIA Australasia was actually in Asia on the night, occupied with Covid-19 issues. He thanked the trade for being ‘consistent in supporting cruise lines in good times and when we have headwinds.’ He noted the current situation is dynamic and rapidly changing. ‘Despite all that is happening, I remain optimistic.’ Earlier coverage and full list of winners here.
