Spain is in the fast lane

The growing popularity of Spain and the ease of combining the country with other destinations has encouraged The Innovative Travel Company to launch three new Spain-orientated programmes in its Ancient Kingdoms Holidays schedule.
Anthony Fau, Innovative’s international manager, says that troubles in some parts of the Middle East and Europe have also sparked interest and travel to Spain.

‘Spain is perceived as being safe while still being exotic,’ says Fau. ‘It is easy to combine with places like Portugal and Morocco, which is a big bonus because Morocco is our most popular destination.’
Fau was one of the presenters at last night’s Spain Roadshow, at Grand Millennium Auckland, which included local New Zealand providers along with the Spain Tourist Board and partners from Europe.
Innovative’s new Spain tours include Andalusia & Paradores, The Camino, and Splendours of Andalusia & Toledo.
Javier Amichis Luengo, market manager Middle East and Asia Pacic with Madrid, was talking to New Zealand agents about the city’s food and wine, its art attractions and museums.
‘We are also right in the middle of Spain and we have connections by fast-speed train to heritage attractions and other cities in the country.
