Tourism Ireland and Cathay Pacific have partnered to create the incentive for NZ agents to educate themselves on Cathay’s new European destination - Ireland. The recently re-designed Ireland Specialist programme is an online learning tool for agents to up-skill. Cathay provides a one-stop service from NZ to the Emerald Isle, redirecting the increased popularity of Ireland as a standalone destination, or gateway to or from UK/Europe. Over 30,000 Kiwis visited Ireland in 2017.
The specialist programme includes six modules including: Where to Go; Things to Do; Places to Stay; Events; What’s New; as well as tips specific to the Kiwi market. Every travel agent who completes the programme and achieves Gold Certification, will go into the draw to be selected to be part of the fam trip. It runs from the 14 to 21 November, visiting Dublin and Belfast, including the ABs v Ireland match at Aviva Stadium. To be eligible, agents must complete the Ireland Specialist programme by 24 September. Agents registered under the old specialist programme need to re-register and complete the programme. www.trade.ireland.com
