Consistent experience key

Ensuring the same high level of service throughout dealings with clients (and trade) is a key to success for Globus Family of Brands, says New Zealand manager Troy Ackerman.

The company, which celebrates its 90th anniversary in a couple of weeks, has been nominated in the best tour operator and best river cruise operator (Avalon) in the coming Travel Agents Association of New Zealand (TAANZ) NTIA Awards. Ackerman says the team in New Zealand travels extensively on Globus Family of Brands product and has firsthand knowledge of how the delivery of the product works. ‘Our tour and cruise directors provide an amazing experience. It is important that we replicate that and provide the same level of professionalism that our tours and cruises are synonymous for.’

Ackerman says the New Zealand team has grown to 15, including additional people in customer services. ‘We have been in New Zealand for more than 35 years and we have seen dramatic growth in the last five years. Much of that is Avalon based, but we are also seeing strong touring business. ‘Croatia is looking popular for the next season, partly off the back of Game of Thrones. Scandinavia is strong for us too – everyone wants to go there but it is regarded as an expensive destination and our programmes help mitigate exposure to cost.’ • Details on the Globus Family of Brands Supertour 2019 were in the One Minute Memo, Tuesday 31 July.
