Amaan Khan, global managing director, says tour dates are available now right through to 2020. ‘Sometimes solo people travelling in a group with couples and friends can feel a bit left out. So we introduced solo tours last year and they have been so popular that we have increased departures to cater for the demand.’ Khan says the new brochure includes Solo India and Solo Sri Lanka, both covering the ‘must see and dos’.
In India these include the Taj Mahal, palace accommodation, Delhi, Jodhpur and more. Sri Lanka highlights include tea gardens, national parks, cultural experiences in Kandy, shopping in Colombo and three nights at the beach. ‘We keep a leisurely and relaxed pace with these tours and that is always well received.’ He emphasises that there is a difference between ‘singles and solos’. ‘Not all of our solo travellers are single people – sometimes one partner wants to travel to a particular destination and the other does not.
