Skal AKL gets crafty with beer

Membership of both Skal Auckland and its Young Skal division continue to grow steadily, according to club president Michael Shah.

Skal Auckland had its April lunch at the Shakespeare Tavern in the city yesterday that included about 12 guests along with regular members. The pub brews its own craft beers. Shah says membership is now back up around 50 with more ‘sign ups’ on the horizon. ‘We’ve got a new Young Skal event coming up on 2 May, partnering with the German Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand, with guest speakers from Air New Zealand,’ Shah says. Shah also reminded the audience of the industry friendship evening coming up next Wednesday, 10 April. The event is open to anyone in the wider tourism and travel industry and no RSVP is necessary.
