Active Adventures' new trips

Active Adventures has released four New Zealand itineraries designed specifically for the domestic market with lower price points and shorter durations than the company’s usual trips.

The trips will also suit Australian guests once a trans Tasman bubble is confirmed.

The five-day Mahana, roundtrip NSN, is a comfort-focused adventure that takes in two Great Walks, the Pelorus River and kayaking, complemented by unique accommodation, a winery and local food. Mahana is graded Active 1 in difficulty and costs $2899pp.

The five-day Tahi, roundtrip ZQN, includes family-friendly activities such as hiking, biking, jet boating and premium accommodation with views of Lake Wakatipu. It also includes a cruise on TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak Farm Station for dinner and sheep shearing demonstration. Graded Active 3 in difficulty, Tahi costs $2699pp.

The six-day Whanui, roundtrip CHC, begins with a day hiking and biking around Mount Cook Village followed by a helicopter flight on day two. Over the next five days guests bike 300km, descending 1000 metres to the Pacific Ocean. Whanui is graded Active 3-4 in difficulty and costs $2999pp.

The Marino Milford Sound itinerary is a two-day adventure roundtrip ZQN and staying one night at Milford Sound Lodge. Graded Active 3, the trip costs $1399pp and includes kayaking Milford Sound and hiking a stretch of the Routeburn Track.

Four more new itineraries are in the pipeline and expected to be released by Active Adventures over the next week.
