‘Just because our borders are shut doesn’t mean clients have to miss out altogether in exploring what other counties have to offer,’ says AIM’s product manager, Jay Soysa. He says he tours give people the opportunity to enjoy a slice of different countries through culture, food and artistic experiences. The first tour is themed ‘Feel the romance of France’ in Central North Island, starting 14 August. It includes a French Alps experience atop Mt. Ruapehu, a stay at Hilton Lake Taupo and a tasting of six types of French wines paired with a French dinner with Francis Auclert aka The Wine Knight. Guests also go fishing on a chartered boat, while the crew serves a French lunch.
There is also an India themed tour in Queenstown (29 August) staying at luxury hotel The Rees. Clients learn to cook Indian food, participate in a Bollywood dance class and take part in some of Queenstown’s popular activities. Soysa says the third tour, also in Queenstown (25 September), offers an experience of Latin America. Guests arrive at The Rees on a jetboat and have a special cocktail, sample a variety of tapas-style canapes and join a Latin American dance party with a selection of music. This is rounded off with a dinner of Latin American flavours. All three tours are four days, three nights - with the option to extend and are priced from $1815 per person, commissionable at 10%.
