Only eight spaces are available per departure. The price for the tour is $1895 per person and includes transport to and from Christchurch to John the observatory, site tour guided by University of Canterbury staff and astronomers, night observing and photography using the 0.6M telescope, basic accommodation at Mt John Observatory (two people per bunk room, bedding provided), access to the summit for photography, dinner at a restaurant in Tekapo on day one, drinks and snacks at Mt John Observatory and a light breakfast / lunch for people to access at their leisure.
