Port Vila resort spreads appeal

Ramada Resort Port Vila is continuing to diversify its market appeal to embrace sectors such as families, weddings and meetings, says Susan Jones, the hotels sales and marketing rep for New Zealand and Australia.

In Auckland this week for Meet the Pacific, Jones has also made a point of meeting wholesalers and other key industry partners face to face. ‘We’ve been known as a couples resort but we are also suitable for families and now have 15 more family rooms – making a total of 20. We’ve also got interconnecting junior suites or two bedroom suites and we opened a kids club this year.’ Jones says the Ramada has revamped its spa and runs a sunset cruise on a small boat that travels up the lagoon. ‘And we are building a new chapel at the beach front. We’ve already had some interest and a few bookings, but we will be launching it with new photography soon.’ The resort’s owners also have the longer established Chantilly’s on the Bay and Jones says the Banyan Bar there is ideal for small group functions seeking a ‘barefoot on the sand’ type of experience. sales1@ramadaresort.com.vu
