Flying between 7 January and 28 March 2026, the enhanced aircraft includes 51 Flagship Suite seats with more personal storage space, a wireless charging pad, USB-C and AC power and a chaise lounge seating option with an adjustable headrest pillow.
‘When we introduced the service to Auckland back in 2022, the response from both Kiwis and Americans was overwhelmingly positive. In response to this feedback and the growth of our New Zealand operation, we have introduced our new premium Boeing 787-9 aircraft between Auckland and DFW, our largest hub,’ says José A. Freig, vice president international and inflight dining operations at American Airlines.
In premium economy is a redesigned seat with new headrest wings. The 32 premium seats also feature a new trim and finish, wireless charging, water bottle storage and USB-C and AC power.
In the main cabin each seat offers USB-C and AC power and 4K QLED screens.
