Flexibility focus for MH in 2021

Malaysia Airlines will continue to promote its enhanced economy fares to the trade into 2021 and is expecting the flexible options to resonate with consumers as borders safely open for post pandemic travel.

Giles Gilbert, regional manager for Malaysia Airlines Australia and New Zealand says travellers have been increasingly seeking choice and flexibility when they plan their journeys and this can only accelerate as people return to the skies.

Malaysia Airlines’ enhanced economy fares give passengers a full-service carrier experience, with three fare options in each class (Lite, Basic, Flex) that can be chosen based on the nature of travel, preference and needs.

‘Customers can decide what they want rather than simply buy what an airline offers, but they will still recieve the services that Malaysia Airlines offers onboard across all fares, such as cabin baggage of up to 7kg, complimentary meals and refreshments plus access to the in-flight entertainment, says Gilbert.

The Economy Flex fare allows 35kg of check in baggage and free seat selection and a 25% child discount. Passengers have priority check in, priority boarding and priority baggage.

Flex fare passengers will also have the flexibility of changing travel dates without a fee and refund without a fee.

The Basic fare allows 20kg check in baggage, one free date change, refund permitted with a fee and a 10% child discount.

The Lite fare provides passengers with the most utilitarian option, perfect for day-trippers and light packers who only require 7kg cabin baggage for their trip. A refund is also permitted with a fee on the Lite fare.

Passengers will accrue Enrich Miles on Malaysia Airlines’ Frequent Flyer Programme for all three fare options, but an upgrade with Enrich Miles is only applicable for Basic and Flex Fares. (Check conditions)
