QF lowers trans-Tasman fares for trade using QDP

Qantas trade partners are set to benefit from an extension to the airline’s lower pricing initiative when booking fares through Qantas’ next-generation distribution platform.

From 29 August 2023, New Zealand and Australian-based travel agents and their customers will be able to take advantage of discounted trans-Tasman fares by up to 5% via the Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP), compared to other indirect booking systems.

The initiative is an extension of the discounted Australian domestic fares that were implemented last November.

The QDP – built using IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) standards – was designed to modernise the service that trade partners provide to customers with a wider range of products, features and capabilities.

Qantas executive manager of global sales and distribution, Igor Kwiatkowski says the extension of the pricing initiative will continue to reward travel agents and customers using the QDP.

‘The Qantas Distribution Platform can provide customers with more choice and personalised offers in their travel experience,’ he says.

Travel agents who have registered in the Qantas Channel can access QDP content via either an Approved Technology Partner, or by developing a direct connection to Qantas’ NDC XML Application Program Interface (API).
