Batik Air’s entry into the New Zealand market last week was the big talking point at Tourism Malaysia’s roadshow in Auckland in September.

Travel trade partners are invited to a night of Malaysian hospitality on Monday 29 August in Cordis Hotel Auckland from 5.30 to 9pm.

Hosted by Tourism Malaysia, the evening will give agents and brokers the chance to reconnect with the destination and meet the organisation’s new deputy director Noorazrin Abdullah who recently joined the Auckland team.

Delicious traditional Malaysian food, home cooked by the Tourism Malaysia team, was served to the Auckland trade yesterday to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

The wide diversity of Malaysia is the focus of a campaign that has been launched by Exotic Holidays, in conjunction with Tourism Malaysia.

Ewan Cao is the new marketing manager for the New Zealand region with Tourism Malaysia. 

Cao has experience across tourism and media sectors, most recently with NZME and prior to that in the media division of Tourism New Zealand. A specialist in connecting Asian audiences with New Zealand experiences, he says he is looking forward to working the reverse of this in connecting Kiwis
