Clients travelling to San Francisco can reach one of the most historically significant parts of California (and the state’s capital) within a 90 minute drive.

Sacramento still has a well-preserved historic centre while also promoting a burgeoning gastronomic scene and its reputation as an American sporting centre.

‘The wild, wild west was basically created in Sacramento due to the Gold Rush,’ says Lilly Wyatt, of Visit Sacramento.

She says the city now has 17 Michelin star rated restaurants and a new food related tagline – Farm to Fork Capital of the World (replacing the former City of Trees line).

Sports fans will find the Sacramento Kings (NBA basketball), Sacramento Republic (soccer) and The Athetic (Major League baseball).
