Positive vibes for NZ trade as USA’s IPW kicks off

Having New Zealand at the beginning rather than at the end of Brand USA’s major activity down-under early next year should encourage more US suppliers to take part in the Kiwi side of the roadtrip, says Corey Marshall, chair of the Visit USA New Zealand Committee.

Currently at the IPW 2023 exhibition and conference in San Antonio, Texas, Marshall says New Zealand may be a small market but it is one that punches above its weight.

Speaking at the Australia and New Zealand reception during IPW over the weekend, Marshall reiterated that the Visit USA committee would be instigating its own regional activity later this year around November’s Thanksgiving celebration.

‘Then Christchurch and Auckland will be first in the Brand USA series in February 2024 (before it heads to Australia) and we think that’s positive for New Zealand.’

Delta Airlines was prominent at the IPW ANZ function, with the carrier’s country manager Australia and New Zealand highlighting the new AKL-LAX service that will begin on 28 October.
