Rail Online expands to North America

Rail Online has officially launched its North American operation, a month after entering the United Kingdom’s domestic rail market.

Rail Online’s platform can now be used to book fares across European, UK and North American rail networks, with all tickets and passes priced in local currencies, no booking fees and instant refunds on e-tickets.

Since launching in New Zealand and Australia in early 2022, Rail Online’s platform has made it easier and more efficient to search, compare, book and self-manage ‘live’ rail inventory.

Founder and chief executive, James Dunne says the company’s expansion into North America forms part of an ambitious global strategy.

‘This is just the beginning of a longer-term travel tech offering that we will be working towards over the coming two to three years,’ says Dunne. ‘In the shorter term, we will be introducing new rail network connections and new features as we continue our global roll-out.’
