New GSA for Travel Manitoba

Sydney-based Global Tourism Solutions (GTS) has been appointed by Travel Manitoba in central Canada as its new general sales agent (GSA) for Australia and New Zealand.

Supporting the brand: Manitoba, Canada’s Heart is Calling, the marketing focus will stem around how a trip to Manitoba will get one’s heart beating through its diverse tourism experiences.

Key pillars to encourage visitation include wildlife viewing with the polar bears and beluga whales of Churchill, northern lights viewing also in Churchill, and urban culture and winter exploration of Winnipeg, the gateway city to the province.

Manitoba is bordered by Saskatchewan to the west, Ontario to the east, Nunavut Territory to the north, and the US states of North Dakota and Minnesota to the south. Located 104 kms north of the US border, the capital city of Winnipeg (pop. 750,000) is easily accessible by rail, road and air. The remote northern town of Churchill (pop. 900) is located 1,000 kms north of Winnipeg, along the Hudson Bay. It is only accessible by a 2.5-hour flight or 45-hour train ride from Winnipeg.

GTS director, Joanne Motta will head up travel trade and consumer marketing and contractor Lizzie Doyle, who also represents the Canadian Rockies, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories in Canada, will lead media relations.

Commencing this month, GTS will focus on supporting Manitoba prepare for Destination Canada’s Rendezvous Canada event, held in Edmonton, Alberta. Manitoba will host the global tourism event in 2025.
