Louisiana stages ‘safe, family-friendly’ Mardi Gras around the state in February and that in turn kick-starts the fair and festival season, says Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser.

‘Then the season lasts all year. If you can eat it, shoot it, dance to it, hunt it, throw it, catch it, play we’ve got a festival for it.’
