Lynda Morrison, product manager at Innovative Travel, recently returned from India after attending the two-day Great Indian Travel Bazaar in Jaipur.

Following the event, Morrison travelled with Innovative Travel’s long-standing local Indian partner through Agra, Ranthambore, Udaipur and Delhi, inspecting hotels and discovering new experiences for the company’s India collection.

The journey also included visits to two different national parks – one renowned for its tiger population and the other celebrated for its leopards and dramatic rocky landscapes. Morrison encountered an abundance of wildlife including sambar and spotted deer, monkeys, sloth bear, mongoose, antelope, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife, highlighting another side of India beyond its cities and palaces.

A standout moment of the journey was staying in Udaipur with sweeping views across Lake Pichola towards the Taj Lake Palace.

Morrison was particularly impressed by the evolution of India’s hospitality and culinary scene since her visit more than 20 years ago – from the restaurant culture to the growth of Delhi’s dynamic Aerocity precinct, now home to world-class hotels, dining and nightlife.

She will soon be updating Innovative Travel’s India programme with new itineraries, including rail journeys aboard the renowned Palace on Wheels and luxury Maharajas’ Express. These train experiences offer travellers a seamless and comfortable way to explore India.
