Growing demand for Japan

World Journeys reports high and growing demand for travel to Japan, which marketing manager Caroline Clegg says is a continuation from pre-Covid patterns.

‘As yet, only fully escorted tours are permitted to visit Japan from 10 June, but we expect this to ease in coming months as Japan works its way cautiously towards a full resumption of travel,’ says Clegg. ‘Five of the World Journeys team have been to Japan, and our absolute Japan expert Dorothy Chambers has travelled there seven times, so we’re feeling well placed to offer expert advice and interesting itinerary suggestions around how to include the stunning gardens of Japan, walking trails, ryokan stays, self-drive and getting off the beaten track.’

Clegg says World Journeys is also offering its small-group Cherry Blossom Japan hosted journey in March next year, after a two year hiatus. The 17-day tour explores Tokyo, the snow monkeys of Yudanaka, Takayama in the Japanese Alps, Shirakawago, Kyoto, Osaka Castle and Hiroshima.

It’s priced from $17,195 per person shareptwin including airfares ex AKL, four-star hotels, transfers, sightseeing and entrance fees, all transport including the bullet train, and some meals. Gratuities are neither required nor expected in Japan.
