Singapore promotes to trade
New attractions, hotels and other reasons to make a repeat or first time visit were accentuated by a Singapore Tourism Board delegation that visited Auckland earlier this week.
Oliver Chong, executive director Oceania for STB, told the gathering at Rydges Auckland that 57,000 New Zealanders visited Singapore in 2022. This was 37% of 2019 but recent anecdotal evidence indicates that it is continuing to increase.
Singapore's recovery continues
Singapore’s international visitor arrivals reached 6.3 million in 2022 exceeding STB’s forecast of between 4 and 6 million visitors.
Tourism receipts are estimated to reach S$13.8 to S$14.3 billion (-50 per cent to 52 per cent of 2019 TR). Barring unexpected circumstances, tourism activity is now expected to recover to pre-pandemic levels by 2024.
Seeing Singapore
Singapore Tourism Board, together with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Destination Asia (Singapore) and Air New Zealand, recently hosted a group of Kiwi incentive and events organisers on a famil to Singapore.
