The company has just released specials with savings of up to 50% on select Croatia small ship cruises, for sales through to 28 February and a variety of departures available in April through to August. In some cases the savings are up to $3820 per couple. ‘We have been selling these cruises for about 20 years but we have seen them continually improve and evolve as demand has increased,’ says Teodora Antunovich, sales and marketing manager with Croatia Times Travel. ‘When they started the ships tended to be vintage wooden vessels with bunk beds.
‘While that type of experience is still available we now offer more modern and high tech ships that are akin to having your own private yacht. No matter what standard of ship, the beauty of small ship cruising is that it gives an authentic experience – we only deal with local operators who have local captains and crews.’ The company finds that cruises between Split and Dubrovnik, in the south, remain among the most popular. However, there is a trend towards northern excusions taking in destinations such as Opatija, Vodich and Zlarin. These tend to draw repeat Croatia visitors, providing a new opportunity for trade.
