VIP Antarctica cruise

Viva Expeditions has a new 13-day ‘VIP Antarctica’ small-ship tour with special guests onboard – Sir John Key and modern-day polar explorer Professor Mike Stroud.

Chartering the new luxury expedition vessel Ocean Albatros, Viva is taking them and up to 196 passengers to the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands in November 2023.

Professor Stroud is best known for his record-breaking expeditions with Sir Ranulph Fiennes – from completing the first unsupported crossing of Antarctica on foot, to finishing seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.

Former NZ Prime Minister and former Tourism Minister, Sir John is an avid Antarctica enthusiast and joins the tour for his third trip to the continent.

After 10 years of specialising in travel to Antarctica, this is the first time Viva Expeditions has chartered a ship there.

Viva founder and managing director Rachel Williams says the company seen record high levels of demand for Antarctica. The 13-day VIP Antarctica tour is scheduled to begin in Buenos Aires on 23 November 2023, with packages from $17,995.
