Corporate incentives on river

Avalon Waterways took the opportunity to re-connect with the incentive travel market during the Destination Marketing Services (DMS) workshop in Auckland this week.

Avalon’s national sales manager Alka Thapar says she is encouraging people in the sector to think outside the box.

‘River cruising may not be the normal conference and incentive style but it is a great way to offer a programme with a different kick.

‘We have an all-inclusive and cost effective proposition.’

Thapar points out that Avalon is ideal for small groups that may be attending a major sporting tournament or other event.

‘For the rugby later this year, adding a cruise in France and beyond is a great option.

‘We also do a lot of special interest activity – golf, wine appreciation, culinary journeys, history, photography – they all fit well.’
