Accessible adventure – add land to Alaska cruising, delegation urges Kiwi trade
Encouraging Kiwi clients to ‘get off the ship’ and add a land package to cruise is a major objective for a visiting delegation from Alaska this week.
Tia Froehle, from Visit Anchorage, says another key message is just how accessible wilderness and adventure activities are for visitors.
Princess Cruises' Alaska 2025
Princess Cruises has unveiled its 2025 Alaska cruise and cruisetours season, with three roundtrip itineraries and a new National Parks cruisetour. These are available for booking now.
AQV launches Alaska expeditions
American Queen Voyages – known for its paddlewheeler river cruises – has launched its first expedition ship, with the new, luxury, 186-guest Ocean Victory debuting in Alaska to offer a season of 11 and 12-night nature adventures from May to September this year and also in 2023 and 2024.
NCL starts Alaska season
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has kicked off the 2022 Alaskan cruise season with Norwegian Bliss from the Port of Seattle. This is the first of any cruise ship to visit Alaska this season as well as the first of five Norwegian Cruise Line vessels to cruise The Last Frontier through to October 2022.
Canada and Alaska 2023
APT has launched its most popular Canada and Alaska holidays for 2023 early so travel agents can secure the best deals for clients.
The 16-page brochure showcases five key itineraries with multiple departures dates from April to September 2023. Savings of up to $3,500 per couple are on offer for bookings made prior to 29 April 2022.

Holland America Line plans to restart cruising to Alaska in July, roundtrip from Seattle, Washington, aboard Nieuw Amsterdam
Bookings are open for the 10 Saturday departures that will operate from 24 July to 2 October. The seven-day Alaskan Explorer itinerary calls at Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Sitka and Ketchikan. Scenic cruising in Alaska includes Glacier Bay and Stephens Passage.
Plans for these cruises to fulfill Holland America Line’s obligations under the Passenger Vessel Services Act (PVSA) are expected to be approved, as are final instructions from CDC, and the company is beginning the return-to-cruising preparation process immediately.
