More on Rail Europe’s B2B

The Swiss panoramic train journeys of the Glacier Express and Bernina Express are now available on Rail Europe’s B2B websites and via its API.

Rail Europe’s GM of APAC, Richard Leonard, says that post pandemic, Switzerland has emerged as a top mono European destination to explore.

‘These additions make it even easier for advisors to secure their tickets for such iconic Swiss Scenic Trains,’ he says.

The Glacier Express, dubbed the ‘slowest express train in the world’, is a 7.5-hour train ride between Zermatt and St. Moritz, crossing 291 bridges, passing through 91 tunnels and ascending up to 2,033m, the highest point of the track.

The Bernina Express is a four-hour journey between Chur in the north and Tirano in the south, travelling across 122km, passing through 55 tunnels and crossing an impressive 196 bridges and viaducts, including the UNESCO World Heritage listed site of the Rhaetian Railway’s Albula Line. In summer, there is also an extended service on the Bernina Express bus that connects Tirano to Lugano in three hours.

The Swiss Travel Pass provides holders unlimited travel on all of Switzerland’s public transportation system of train, buses and ferries. It grants up to 50% off cableways, free access to more than 500 museums across the country, and free travel for accompanying children under 16 years old.

Also, agents with clients travelling to Switzerland between 15 April and 13 November 2023 can now pass on one and two additional free travel days when they book four or eight-day Swiss Travel Passes respectively. Prices start from A$340 / A$481 (youth / adult) for the four-day pass and A$472 / A$665 (adult / youth) for the eight-day pass. Bookings can be made from 15 April and no later than 14 May 2023.
