All about Egypt
Innovative Travel’s two-week Egypt roadshow has wound up after a series of presentations focusing on Egypt. The roadshow gave travel agents and their selected clients the opportunity to hear from Innovative Travel’s Cairo based director and former chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Board, Elhamy ElZayat. The events provided an insight into the life and times of the boy king Tutankhamen, who is in turn the key inspiration for the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Giza.

Innovative adds campervan GSA
Innovative travel has signed a GSA agreement with Ireland’s BUNK campervan rentals, the latest step in the company’s expanding Irish product portfolio.
‘A lot of New Zealanders went out and bought campervans during Covid and that has rekindled people’s love for this sort of travel,’ says Robyn Galloway, managing director of Innovative Travel. ‘It is also an ideal way to see Ireland, get off the beaten track and discover the smaller towns and villages.’

Turkey by coach returns
Traditional 14 and 15-day coach touring is back for Turkey, says Innovative Travel MD Robyn Galloway.
‘Clients who may opt for independent travel in other destinations, often choose a coach tour in Turkey, as it is the simplest and most convenient style to explore this destination – four times the size of the UK,’ says Galloway.
Addressing clients' hesitancy
'Hearing about client hesitancy for long haul travel provided a compelling reason to travel as early as possible following the New Zealand border opening,’ says Robyn Galloway, managing director of Innovative Travel.
Galloway has just returned from a five-country, 10-flight tour reconnecting with Northern Hemisphere partners.
Ireland welcoming back Kiwis
The Emerald Isle has shown that is ready to once again to welcome Kiwis following the attendance at the Meet the Buyer trade event in Meitheal (Killarney) by Tourism Ireland’s NZ rep Darragh Walshe and Innovative Travel’s Robyn Galloway.
‘It was also important to show the Irish industry that New Zealand is now opening up again,’ says Walshe. ‘We were particularly happy to be able to host Robyn at the Meitheal event for the first time. Her enthusiasm for the breadth of product and the opportunities for the New Zealand market was plain to see – especially by the tourism board and government heads.
New tour for Ancient Kingdoms
Innovative Travel has released a new 24-day tour combining traditional destination favourites Egypt, Israel, Palestine and Jordan for 2022.
Managing Director Robyn Galloway says the tour is also being released internationally to cater for markets seeking a small group tour experience, who are ready and able to travel.
Assisted travel ‘worth more’
High-end enquiries for bespoke FIT and inter-generational holidays is the fastest growing trend following the Government announcement that the New Zealand border will re-open for longer haul travel in 2022, according to Innovative Travel managing director, Robyn Galloway.
‘Families and individuals with generous budgets are seeking bespoke arrangements and peace of mind travel, with local in-country 24/7 backup,’ Galloway says.
