‘The home-based sector is now a shining light and the perception across all brands is positive, they have to be in this space. We’re no longer the black sheep,’ says Southcombe.
He says Travel Advocates recruited heavily through the pandemic and is now double the size of what it was pre-Covid.
Southcombe’s comments came during the Global Travel Network (GTN) Conference over the weekend, which included attendance from 10 Travel Advocates.
‘The key for home based advisors is that they have the right tools from a product perspective. Knowing how to access everything they need is crucial as is getting a handle on all the system changes.’
Southcombe says events like the GTN get together in the Sunshine Coast is crucial for the sector.
‘It is a great way for home-based people to get face-to-face with suppliers and they really value the opportunity to talk to one another in a relaxed and informative format.’
