Renewed call for mentors
The Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME) has reiterated its need to attract more mentors for the programme.
TIME NZ chair Andrew Gay says the lack of mentors is now impacting on the number of mentees who can go through the programme. ‘It’s holding us back,’ he says.
TIME scholarships x3
New TIME NZ sponsors Silversea Cruises and Mint Payments, along with loyal sponsor Expedia TAAP have announced the recipients of their mentee scholarships, starting 8 March.
Angela Webber from House of Travel will be sponsored by Silversea Cruises, Danielle Mueth from First Light Travel by Mint, and Zaheda Davies, NZ Travel Brokers by Expedia TAAP.
TIME gives agent focus
Gaining a place as a mentee in the Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME) programme and picking up a gig as a regular travel columnist in her local newspaper have helped keep Dunedin agent Alexandra Hannagan focused and busy during the demanding times of the Covid pandemic.
Now the owner of Hannagan and Greive Travel Associates, just off the Octagon, has a new challenge – working out how to manage her time and effectively service valuable clients as the whole industry battles with staff shortages.

It’s TIME to rebuild – focus on retaining, attracting key people
Graduations, an announcement of the latest inductees and some new and refreshed sponsorships were all part of a TIME (Travel Industry Mentor Experience) NZ ceremony and function at Crown Institute of Studies in Auckland early April.
The proceedings were held in an atmosphere of optimism as borders open, the industry gets busy and the focus is firmly put on developing skills as well as retaining and attracting talented personnel in the travel and tourism sectors.
TIME's ASP scholarship
Aussie Specialist Trainer, Daniel Wright recently sat down with a current mentee of the TIME NZ programme, Alex Hannagan, to discuss the benefits of TIME and why people should apply.
This follows TIME NZ’s partnership with Tourism Australia to offer the inaugural Aussie Specialist Scholarship to members of the wider travel industry.
TIME partners with ASP
TIME (Travel Industry Mentor Experience) NZ has a new partnership with Tourism Australia’s Aussie Specialist Program. This includes the inaugural Aussie Specialist Scholarship.
The development was announced at a TIME event at Crown Institute of Studies on in July, which celebrated graduates from recent intakes and also announced four new mentees and their mentors.
The scholarship covers full TIME programme fees for six months of dedicated, tailored mentoring from a strategically selected senior industry professional plus on-going benefits including the TIME to Learn programme and additional one-off mentoring with a mentor of choice (subject to availability).
TIME gathers speed with second intake
Five new mentor-mentee partnerships were introduced at TIME’s second intake this week as the organisation gains momentum on this side of the Tasman.
