South Pacific trade event

The South Pacific will be out in force for two days in Christchurch next year.

The annual South Pacific Tourism Exchange, with representatives from 20 island nations, will be held in Christchurch for the first time on 25 and 26 May 2020 and organisers are urging the Kiwi trade to save the date now. Christopher Cocker, chief executive of the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), says a key function during the exchange will be the retail agents’ cocktail and networking session on the evening of 25 May. Christchurch, Canterbury and wider South Island agents will be welcome to attend and more details will be released soon.

Meantime, New Zealand based wholesalers will be invited to register as buyers for the whole event, where they will be able to meet with some 90 tourism suppliers from 20 SPTO member countries and the New Zealand Maori tourism community. Retailers, local media and wholesalers will also be able to mix and mingle with overseas based buyers at the cocktail event. SPTE will be staged at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, Wigram. Details on host hotels, transport arrangements and registration will be released shortly. TRAVELinc Memo is the official New Zealand trade media partner for SPTE 2020.
