In addition to this, from 1 November 2023 to 27 January 2024 there will be two flights per week. Departing Auckland on a Wednesday and Saturday (arriving into Niue Tuesday and Friday) these flights will be a mixture of the A321 and A320 aircraft. This will allow flexibility on the length of stay for visitors to the island.
‘We are well on our road to recovery in our industry with most accommodation and rental operators now reporting occupancy levels almost back to pre-Covid levels and now only limited by air capacity,’ says director of tourism Micah Fuhiniu-Viviani.
‘Our sales and marketing in New Zealand is working well with awareness of the destination at an all-time high.’
Niue will also be relaunching the self famil programme for trade soon to coincide with the start of the additional flight in November. Agents will be able to experience what Niue has to offer over either three, four or seven day stays.
‘We know when agents experience Niue for themselves, they can sell it effectively to the right customers,’ says Sarah Porter, the Niue specialist based in New Zealand to assist trade. Porter will be managing the self and hosted famil programmes that will be released in the next month.’ www.niueisland.com
