Flight Centre Travel Group New Zealand (FCTG NZ) has announced its new country leadership structure, with the appointment of a country leader and deputy country leader from within its NZ leadership team.

The model follows FCTG’s evolution from country-led towards a brand-led structure. The new dual-roles will oversee the New Zealand-wide business and community, whilst continuing to lead their respective areas.

Heidi Walker has been appointed country leader for FCTG NZ, in addition to her current role as GM of Flight Centre brand in New Zealand. She will oversee countrywide collaboration across all of FCTG’s NZ brands and champion initiatives across the NZ business.

Terence Blokker is deputy country leader, in addition to his current role as NZ CFO. He will support cross-brand alignment for FCTG’s NZ brands.

Walker brings more than 25 years of experience within FCTG, starting in the supply business at Ticket Centre before transitioning into retail as an area leader. She later moved into People & Culture as GM before returning to lead Flight Centre brand as GM.

With 25 years in FCTG in both New Zealand and South Africa, Blokker has built a career spanning across FCTG’s retail, supply and GBS divisions. His experience includes various finance and retail leadership positions, leading to his current role as CFO for New Zealand.

FCTG NZ’s broader leadership team includes Jason Buckley, GM Envoyage; Kelly Thomas, GM FCM; Angie Forsyth, GM Corporate Traveller; Kelly De Graaf, head of luxury brands; and Melanie Barnett, GM people and culture.
