This involves descending 250m sea cliffs to arrive at storm beaches in remote and atmospheric locations in Ireland, then launching from the shore to cross the open ocean to land at the bases of towering rock. These are climbed, taking participants to summits that can feel like nowhere else in the world.
Standing on a pinpoint summit over 100m above the ocean, 500m from the nearest point of land and 20km from the nearest main road is often described as a spiritual experience.
Since 2007, Unique Ascent has been exploring the sea stacks of County Donegal, and has climbed more than 60 previously unclimbed sea stacks in the county, recording over 150 new routes. During the adventures, guests see first-hand the beauty of these little known places in Ireland.
This activity is open to everyone and does not require any previous climbing experience, just a sense of adventure and humour. uniqueascent.ie/seastacks
